What is Cohousing?
Cohousing communities are an attempt to offer people more than they typically find in America's suburbs today. The advantages of home ownership remain, and are enhanced by the benefits of shared common facilities and ongoing connections with neighbors.

The physical design of cohousing communities re-establishes many of the advantages of traditional neighborhoods. The design encourages interaction between individuals, breaking down the isolation typical of suburban developments and creating a small-town atmosphere, while maintaining all the privacy treasured by most Americans.
